Terms, in plain English
This page has two parts. Part 1 covers using this website. Part 2 is a summary of how a project with us works: price, payment, who owns what, and what we don’t promise.
We wrote it to be read, not to be scrolled past. If anything is unclear, email hello@conicpro.com and we’ll explain it.
Last updated:
The short version
- Your project runs on a written quote and a simple agreement. If this page and your agreement ever disagree, your agreement wins.
- The price is fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts.
- You pay 50% to start and the rest before launch.
- Cancel before we start work and you get your first payment back in full. Once work has started, it is not refunded.
- Once you’ve paid in full, the site is yours: site, content, domain and every login.
- Care plans: Month-to-month. No long-term contract. Change or cancel with 30 days’ notice.
- We don’t guarantee Google rankings, leads or sales.
Who we are
“We” and “ConicPro” mean the ConicPro team: the developers and designers who build the sites. We are based in Serbia. “You” means the person reading this, or the business you represent.
You can reach us at hello@conicpro.com. We’re online 9am–5pm Eastern, Monday–Friday, and we reply within 1 business day.
Business days are Monday to Friday, except public holidays. If both of us will be away, we post the dates on the contact page in advance.
Part 1
Using this website
By using conicpro.com you agree to the few rules in this part. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What’s on the site
The site describes what we do and what it costs. We keep it accurate and up to date, but it is general information, not an offer made to you personally.
Prices are in US dollars. Where a price says “from”, it is a starting price. Your price is the one on your written quote, and it doesn’t change unless the scope does.
We may change the site, our services or our prices at any time. A change never affects a quote you have already accepted. Changes to a care plan you are on follow the notice rule under “Care plans” below.
Our demo sites
The sites under /demo/ are concept projects. The businesses, people, phone numbers and reviews on them are made up to show how we think. They are labeled that way on every page.
Please don’t treat them as real businesses, and don’t type real personal details into their forms.
The free website audit
The audit is free and comes with no obligation. You get a written report by email within 2 business days.
It is our professional opinion, based on what anyone can see of your site from the outside. It is advice, not a guarantee. What you do with it is up to you, whether or not you hire us.
Please only request an audit for a website you own or work for.
Fair use
Use the site the way a normal visitor would. Please don’t:
- try to break into it, overload it or get around its security
- send spam, ads or anything harmful through our forms
- copy our text, design or code and pass it off as your own
The words, design and code on this site and on the demo sites belong to ConicPro. Quoting a line with a link back is fine.
Links and availability
We sometimes link to other websites. We don’t control them and we aren’t responsible for what’s on them.
We work to keep this site online and correct, but we provide it as it is. We can’t promise it will never be down or never contain a mistake. If you spot one, tell us and we’ll fix it.
Part 2
How projects work
This part is a summary, so you know what to expect before you talk to us.
Every project runs on two documents: a written quote and a simple agreement, both made for your project. Those two documents govern the work. If they ever say something different from this page, they win.
Price and scope
Before any work starts, you get a fixed price in writing, with the exact list of what is included. That list is the scope.
The price doesn’t change unless the scope changes. No surprise invoices.
Timelines in the quote start when we have your content: text, photos and logins. As a guide, a Starter site takes 2–3 weeks, a Business site 4–6 weeks, and a landing page about 1 week. Premium projects have a timeline agreed per project.
Payment
- 50% of the project price to start. Work begins when that payment arrives.
- The remaining balance before launch. The site goes live when that payment arrives.
- Invoices are in US dollars. You pay by bank transfer. We don’t take card payments.
- Care plans are billed monthly. The details are under “Care plans” below.
A written agreement with these terms is signed before any payment.
If a project is canceled
Plans change. Here is what happens to your money and to the work if a project stops. The same rules are in the written agreement you sign before any payment.
- You cancel before we start work. Your first payment is refunded in full.
- Once work has started, the first payment is non-refundable. It covers the time we reserved for you and the work done so far.
- The project stops part-way. If the work completed is worth more than your first payment, we invoice the difference at $50 an hour. The total is never more than the agreed fixed price. You receive everything that has been completed and paid for.
- We can’t finish, for a reason on our side. We refund any payment for work not delivered.
- The project goes quiet. If we hear nothing from you for 30 days, the project is paused and the launch date is rescheduled around other clients. After 90 days with no reply, the project is closed and the first payment is kept.
- Care plans. Cancel with 30 days’ notice. The month already paid is not refunded.
When the scope changes
Changing your mind is normal. Here is how we handle it.
Feedback and adjustments are covered by the revision rounds in your package: 2 rounds for Starter, 3 for Business, agreed per project for Premium.
Anything new, such as an extra page, a new feature or a different direction after you approved the design, is a change of scope. We tell you the price in writing first. An extra page is $150. Other extra work is $50 an hour, always estimated before we start.
We never do paid extra work without your OK in writing. If you say no, the original quote stands.
Your part of the job
A website is a joint effort. We need a few things from you to hit the dates in your quote.
- Content. Your text, photos, logo and logins, using the short checklist we send. The timeline starts when we have them.
- Timely feedback. We design the homepage first and build nothing else until you approve it. If feedback or approval takes longer than planned, the launch date moves by about the same amount.
- One decision-maker. One person who can say “yes, approved” on behalf of the business.
- Accounts in your own name. Your domain and hosting are bought in your name, with your payment method. We set them up for you. This is what keeps you in control.
- Rights to what you give us. You confirm you own the text, photos and logos you send us, or have permission to use them.
- The rules of your trade. You are responsible for what your business says on the site and for anything your industry requires, such as license numbers, required notices or regulated claims.
Who owns what
Once you have paid in full, the website is yours: the design we made for you, the pages, the content and every login. Your domain and hosting are in your name from day one.
We build in WordPress so you can edit the site yourself and move it anywhere. You are never locked in to us.
Any paid plugin or theme your site depends on is licensed in your name wherever possible, so it keeps getting updates if you stop working with us.
Three plain exceptions:
- Our know-how stays ours. The general methods, tools and reusable pieces of code we bring to every project remain ours. You get a permanent, transferable right to use and change whatever of that is built into your site, with any developer or host.
- Other people’s software stays theirs. WordPress, plugins, fonts and stock photos come with their own licenses. You get the right to use them under those licenses.
- Until the final payment, the work in progress remains ours. Your own text, photos and logo are always yours.
We show your project, or mention your business as a client, only with your written permission. No permission, no mention.
Costs from other companies
Some things a website needs are sold by other companies, not by us. They are billed to you, in your own name wherever possible. If your project needs a paid license, we quote it up front, at cost, with no markup.
Here is what is not included in any package:
- Domain name and hosting — bought in your own name (typically about $15/year and $10–30/month). We set them up for you.
- Photography and video
- Logo design and branding
- Writing all of your text from scratch (available as an add-on)
- Paid third-party licenses, if your project needs one — quoted up front, at cost
- Monthly SEO, ads management and social media
These services are run by their own companies, under their own terms. We help you choose and set them up, but we can’t control their prices, their outages or their decisions.
Free fixes after launch
For 30 days after your site goes live, we fix anything that doesn’t work the way the quote said it would. Free.
That covers bugs, display problems on a phone or browser, broken forms and broken links. It doesn’t cover new pages, new features, fresh content, or problems caused by changes someone else made to the site.
After that, you can look after the site yourself, pay by the hour when you need us, or pick a care plan.
Care plans
Month-to-month. No long-term contract. Change or cancel with 30 days’ notice.
- Plans are billed monthly, in advance. If you cancel, the month already paid is not refunded.
- Each plan includes what is listed on the pricing page on the day you sign up. If we change a plan’s price or what it includes, we give you at least the same notice you would give us. We can also end a plan with that notice.
- Included edit hours are for small changes: new text or photos, a new team member, a blog post, updated business hours or prices. Hours don’t roll over to the next month.
- New pages, redesigns and new features are quoted separately. Extra work is $50 an hour, always estimated before we start.
- Restoring means putting back the latest working backup. Finding and removing malware is a separate job on Basic and Standard, at a fixed price agreed before we start. On Pro it is included, for hacks that happen while you’re on the plan.
- On Pro, “same business day” is for urgent issues: your site is down, a form or checkout is broken, or the site has been hacked. It applies to issues reported while we’re online. Anything reported after hours gets a reply the next business day.
- Hosting is not part of a care plan. It stays in your name.
- When a plan ends, we send you the latest backup.
- For a WordPress site we didn’t build, we do a free onboarding check first and tell you if it needs repairs before we can take it on.
Updates, backups and monitoring lower the risk of trouble. They can’t remove it. No one can promise a website will never go down or never be attacked. What we promise is to do the work in your plan and to restore your site if something breaks.
What we don’t promise
We build sites that are fast, clear and ready for Google. We don’t guarantee a position in Google, a number of calls, leads or sales, or any other business result.
Those depend on things we don’t control: your market, your competitors, your reviews, your prices, and Google itself. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings, and we don’t.
What we do promise is what we control: the price, the scope, the timeline, the reply time, and that you own the result.
If something goes wrong
We do our work with care and skill. If we get something wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it. Email us first. Most problems get sorted out in one conversation.
Some limits, said plainly:
- We aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost customers or lost business.
- We aren’t responsible for services run by other companies: hosting, domain registrars, email, plugins, booking tools or Google. If one of them fails, we’ll help you sort it out.
- We aren’t responsible for content you supplied, or for changes made to your site by you or anyone else after handover.
- If we are ever liable to you, the most we will owe is the amount you paid us for the project the claim is about. For a care plan, that means the fees you paid in the 12 months before the problem.
Nothing on this page takes away rights that the law says can’t be taken away.
Each project is governed by its written agreement, which names the law that applies. For use of this website, the law of the Republic of Serbia applies.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page. When we do, we change the date at the top.
An update never changes a project already under way. Your project is governed by the quote and agreement you accepted, not by later edits to this page.
